The Aseema Trust has served as WorldEducations’s leading South Indian partner in education and networking with local NGOs and individuals since2003.
The Trust is organizing an International Partnership Learning week for International Partnership NetworkwithWorld Ed, to take place in TamilNadu and Karnataka states inOctober, 2005.

Dakshina Chitra is a heritage center for traditional South Indian habitats and culture located on the outskirts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Aseema has worked with the center since its inception in 1996 through work shops for teachers, outreach programs for village children, and cultural events.

SOS Children’s Village is a community for abandoned and orphaned children that provides the experience of siblings and a mother in a village setting. Aseema has been working with cultural programs at the village and an outreach program for school-teachers in the area for ten years. Since the tsunami of December, 2005, Aseema has contributed cultural outreach and rehabilitation programs with the village’s tsunami relief efforts in Pudukuppam village, Nagapattinum District.

International Partnership Network is a group of non-profits invested in creating cultural links for education around the globe. Aseema Trust conducted a seminar on literacy and numeracy for girls in partnership with the IPN in 2000.

Gandhi Peace Foundation teaches about the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi. The Aseema Trust has worked in partnership with the Foundation, teaching spinning workshops to teachers and students with a focus on non-violence, peace studies, and conflict/ resolution.

Crafts Council of India, Tamil Nadu encourages the integrity of the traditional arts of South India in several forms. In partnership with Aseema, the Council has helped develop curriculum for non-formal education for non-school-going children through embroidery skill development and literacy over the course of two years.

Educational Resources Center (New Delhi) provides educational resources for students from situations of poverty. Aseema provides cultural inputs for their projects in 22 rural colleges around India that stress a respect for diversity, as well as theatrical programs and workshops to provoke thought and discussion. Students enjoy learning the theatrical process as well as sharing relevant issues that pertain to coming of age in India.

The Aseema Trust had selected a group of children belonging to traditional
performing artist families of villages in Tamil Nadu State and Kerela,
India, o take part in the World Children’s Festival in the Netherlands
with 23 performances for schools and public audiences in 14 cities.
