Using the Performing Arts to Empower Girls to Make More Informed Decisions about their Livelihoods
The Aseema Trust, in partnership with several educational institutions and a variety of non-governmental organizations, has been offering creative art programs to enrich the educational curriculum of selected schools in the inner city Chennai and Rural Tamil Nadu. The goal is to develop an appreciation for a broader range of life options and work with the young females in sharpening their own problem solving skills using the techniques of traditional and contemporary performing arts and to develop their own leadership abilities.
